Polar tourism is on the rise, putting an immense amount of stress on some of the most ecologically vulnerable areas the world over. Largely unchecked, the economic interests of cruise ship companies now directly threaten the planet’s last frontiers. This issue is quickly turning into one of the major conservation challenges of the 21st Century.

This poster was done to fulfill a requirement for a GIS course at San Diego City College. Data is from the International Association of Antarctic Tour Operators (IAATO).
